His first job was in television. He visited the BBC studios in London to study set design and then became employed by them

Attended Auckland University of Technology and studied graphic art
He has conceptualized and designed special events. These have included the 150th birthday celebration of Louis Vuitton and the New Zealand TV and Film Awards
Turned down the opportunity to work on The Hobbit as he didn't really want to spend years on one project, like he had with The Lord of the Rings and he also had family commitments
He was the Production Designer for the 1989 Commonwealth Games and also designed the Royal Relay Baton
