Although he has gained international recognition for his work, just like Peter Jackson, he has chosen to remain in his native New Zealand
Began his career with the New Zealand Broadcasting Company, and later worked as a trainee editor and started cutting newsreels, current affairs programmes, documentaries and dramas
As well as editing Peter Jackson’s films he has also served as a producer, sound editor and production manager
Elected as member of the American Cinema Editors
Along with Peter Jackson, Richard Taylor and Tania Rodger, he is a founding member of Weta, which began in 1993/94
