Started his film career after joining the crew of TV show The Prisoner for a few months in 1981 and became interested in the film business
His wife Chris also worked on The Lord of the Rings as the art department manager
Appeared during the armory scene in The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002) as a cameo
Is one of six children
Worked as an architect for five years
Admires the film Moulin Rouge for its production design
At one time his occupation was a worker on a fishing trawler
Met his wife in 1968. They were married 17th March, 1973
Studied at the Wellington Polytechnic School of Architecture
