Hi, I'm a newbie, and I don't usually do forums, but a friend sent me this website, and I thought it was really nicely done.

I'm a big fan of Theoden, and thought the photos of him were just brilliant. It's so nice to see a fan website that distributes it's slobbering equitably, not just to cute little elves and hobbitses, if you know what I mean. (And I mean slobber in a good way, I really do!)

I have no idea if I've done my signature right or anything, or if I'm doing anything crass, so please pardon any unpardonable dumbnesses my first few times.


I have been collecting LOTR movie material for several years now, and have several thousand items in my collection from 40+ different countries. Most are catalogued, along with photographs, country of origin, etc. I have not figured out how to do a website, although I'd eventually like to.....maybe!

If there's a thread to send me to, and there's any interest, I would be happy to share information, photos, etc of any particular item with anyone who needs it, or to share an "item of the week" etc. I've got some pretty off the wall stuff.......

oops, I already see I need help with the whole picture and avatar thing. Blush!

A big hello and welcome to everyone! Avatars can be confusing, so here are a couple of instructions/tips:

In your profile, the bottom section is called the "Avatar control panel". From here you can do four things:
1~Upload one of your saved avatars. When you "save as" a picture on your computer, these are filed away. Clicking on browse should bring up a list of picture names. Just click on the one you want, and then Ok.
2~Upload from URL. If you know the URL, just enter it here.
3~Link to off-site avatar. If your pic is on another web page(location), you can enter that URL to link it.
4~Show gallery. By far the easiest way, A-U has a lot (I mean a LOT) of free avatars to choose from. Pick the one you want, then click on "Select Avatar".
Back on the profile page, simply press submit, and your avatar should be up and running!

I do hope that little tutorial helped. I made it sound lots more complicated than it really is! Anyways, have fun, and I'll see you all around!
