Wow, I didn't show up at AU til last May. I joined the chatroom, spent everyday there, and I made loads of friends. then I lost interest in it, and went on to explore the rest of the site. That is when I chanced upon the old forum. I joined and was there for only a month before it moved. So, I joined the new forum and I've been a regular to AU ever since.

Gwen, I agree with you about the old forum being intimidating! I <i>still</i> have nightmares about it We had some...um...not very happy goings-on over there. Glad to put that behind us!

I don't know if it was too many members. It was just that we got a few of the wrong sort of members. Yes, A-U was like that for a while, but that's behind us and as Arwen said, it's lovely to be in this new forum here. Although, wow, we've been here since the end of May--that's over 6 months-- and included new staff. A lot of changes in a seemingly short period of time.

I think it might also be attributed to the fact that we either didn't enforce rules very well or enforced them in the wrong sort of way, so we made people ticked off at us. Yay for fresh starts.

Not for everyone Arwen, I think you've got to realise. It wasn't the total mess you seem to think it was! I mean - people kept on coming back, including me (who loved the place). So you were getting something right. Give yourself credit for that.
There was a lot of stuff that went on that not everyone was aware of... well, I know I wasn't (I found out about all this stuff much later) At the time I knew of two "problems" - one I found out about after it had been dealt with, another I knew about as it was going on... and it wasn't that bad. I mean... it didn't interfere with the general atmosphere.
And there were a lot of really interesting, deep discussions that went on, too. It was like life, I guess. It had ups and downs. Arwen just had to deal with all the downs... *feels sorry for Arwen* Ah, well, it's all in the past now.
