How long does it usually take to be activated?

I can't even remember how long it took for me. I think it also was a day.

It took me 5 days to be activated. Am I the only one?

I registered before you had to be activated. Many, many moons ago.
I would think they work fast, though.

Yes, I would think that they work fast. Still, my sister joined 3 days before me and it took her 1 day to be activated.

I don't think there was any activation back when I joined... if there was it must have been instant because I don't remember waiting before I could post!

If you look in the Announcements forum, you'll find that it's something new since last fall, as there are spammers constantly creating accounts on our forum. They started posting and PM-ing some bad stuff, so this was the only way to keep things clean. Sometimes, such as around holidays and stuff, there's more spam accounts than at other times, meaning it takes us longer to activate the good accounts, as we now have to go through each new account and either activate or delete.
