Hey folks!
I’m new to this space and super excited to join The Prancing Pony! I’m here to learn, grow, and share — especially around smart ways to invest.
So, here’s something I’ve been looking into lately —
Consumption mutual funds. These are funds that invest in companies driving consumer demand — think FMCG, retail, auto, lifestyle brands, and more. With India’s rising middle class and evolving consumption patterns, this category is catching a lot of attention.
Anyone here already invested in consumption funds or tracking them? Would love to know your thoughts.
From what I’ve read and researched, the idea behind these funds is pretty solid — they tap into everyday spending trends, which makes them somewhat resilient during market fluctuations. And honestly, that makes them feel a bit safer than other aggressive sectors.
I’m also evaluating the best consumption mutual fund options available right now. Some AMCs are offering them with decent historical returns. But I know past performance isn't everything — would appreciate hearing from people who’ve stuck with these for a while.
Also, for those who believe in regular investing, what do you think about starting a SIP in this category? I’ve read that thematic funds can be volatile in the short term, so maybe a Best SIP strategy over a few years could balance things out.
Here’s what I’d love to know from this amazing community:
Have you invested in consumption mutual funds or similar thematic funds?
What’s your take on SIPs in this space?
Any recommendations on the best consumption mutual fund currently?
What’s your overall approach when choosing a SIP for themed funds?
Looking forward to chatting with you all and learning from your experiences. Let’s make this a fun and engaging discussion.
Cheers,
[Radhika Dave]
