Hi, my name is Rosco & i just found this forum tonite & thought I would join.

Why a LOTR fan?...
I am probably the most unlikely person to become a LOTR fan....Being in my early 40's I had never hardly even heard of the LOTR before last year. But my favorite band was always Led Zeppelin & in all these years I never realized until last March, 2010 that Robert Plant had been inspired by these books when writing some of his lyrics...Well it just happened that the very weekend I find this out that TBS is showing all 3 movies to promote the release of the trilogy on blu ray & I thought what the heck, I'll give it a try....The rest is history! I am so into these stroies & they instantly became my favorite movies of all time. I ordered the Blu Rays the day they came out. But a couple weeks later I found out they had an extended version of these films, so I sold my blu ray versions to get the extended....1 year later & I have watched the trilogy 11 times all the way thru & parts of each of the movies many times.
Also I never was a reader as I hate reading, but since I could not get enuff of this story I ordered the box set that includes the Hobbit....I started with the FOTR & am almost done & I love it!....One more thing I entered a contest about a month ago & won the LOTR Trilogy on Blu Ray so I am getting those again...I just pre ordered the Extended Edition on blu ray & I cant wait to see them over & over again.

This is just such a great story & I am so glad I found out about it finally as it has everything to make a great story. It completely changed my view about fantasy type movies as I always thought they were for nerds, If they are I am the biggest nerd of them all...lol....but because of LOTR I have now watched other series like Harry Potter & Pirates of the carribean, I would have never watched these before. They do not compare to the great LOTR movies though.

Well I have babbled on enough, & I will finish by saying I LOVE THE LORD OF THE RINGS!!!!

Welcome Rosco. So.. you went from never having watched the movies to becoming their biggest fan in just a year? I love your story, it's got everything.. ignorance at first, enlightening, the long journey, more enlightening, bliss and understanding - and now the happy ending when the long lost dude joins one of the best LotR forums out there! Or actully it's just the beginning.. because you'll never finish talking about the greatness of Tolkien's work!

Welcome! Such a great story. I'm always surprised when I hear of other (now) huge fans who didn't know about the greatness of the story until after the movies came out. I thought I was the only one for a while. Anyway, look forward to seeing you around the forum!
