Mae Govannen everyone. My name is Erkenhelm Silverdragon. You might be curious where this name comes from. It is a name that I came up with myself almost four years ago, obviously heavily influenced by one, Erkenbrand. It is the name of my main character on the MMORPG the Lord of the Rings Online. Based on the guidelines for names of the people of Rohan I came up with this name and have loved it ever since. Silverdragon is rather simple: I love dragons, and the color silver sounded the best :D. I don't mind being called Erk for short.

I had been on this site several times in the past but never explored it thoroughly, and I was surprised to discover the chat and these forums. Being one who absolutely loves discussing the lore of Middle-earth, I signed up immediately, hoping I would be able to find people to have discussions with. Around here where I live it is near impossible to find anyone who enjoys Tolkien's works as much as I do so I jumped at the chance. I look forward to meeting all of you.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I have already checked out the Doriath forum and posted on several threads going back to 2006 (didn't realize I had gone that far back lol).

I love lore discussions, they can be virtually endless and everything brings up something else. So many tangents keep the conversations going and extremely interesting :goofy: (I just like that smiley lol)

Sure am, hope I can help others understand more of the lore. I have read half the History of Middle-earth series, Unfinished Tales, and even Tolkien's Letters, so I like to think I have a wealth of knowledge :-D

Hi Erk! We have already met but I thought it worth saying hi to you officially.

Welcome to AU!! Home of Nazgul, Elves, Men and Hobbits (and the occosional Dwarf lol) I know for a fact that you'll find everyone really freindly and helpful on here - and you'll defiantely find lots of fans here who will be overjoyed to have another person to talk about Tolkien :).
I know I am :) (just picked up a 1st edition of the Simirillion!!!!!! squeeeeeeeeeeeeeee)

Ya Unfinished Tales are pretty cool, you get insight into some of the most interesting topics, in my opinion, from the LotR, namely the Istari.

Thanks for the official welcome Andi :) Hope you enjoy the Silmarillion, its awesome learning the lore behind the books.

I bought a second copy of it as well, although I bought the second addition one. My originial is starting to to kinda fall apart from having carried it in my back pack when I read it in high school, so I wanna makes sure it stays in usable condition.
