These roleplayers (Grey Company) trick many a bright Tolkien fan because they do lift some words direct from Tolkien and mix them into their stuff (vedui is a good example -- the regular form of the word is medui and means 'last' -- appearing as vedui due to a mutation in Glorfindel's greeting to Aragorn) -- and they don't make their disclaimer very notable, so plenty of people have taken it for Tolkien's Elvish over the years.
