Suilad, I am Amthuil. I was given the link to A-U on LOTRO one day. I had never heard of it, but was interested because supposedly there was elvish language on it, with translations.
I've already read your basic Elvish page, love it! And yes, I play LOTRO. I am Amthuil on Landroval (I don't play any alts). I don't RP yet, but I suppose if I learn more Elvish I might want to join an Elvish kin. Right now I'm in Highguard of Numenor, a raiding kin, and I like it very much.
I've read the trilogy, loved it, and seen the movies. I read parts of The Hobbit but I'm not sure I read the whole thing. In any case, I did all that reading over 20 years ago, so it's high time I read the books again.
One of my favorite scenes in the movies is when Galadriel looks upon Boromir for the first time. If you don't remember that part, watch it. Her look is... I'm not sure what, but it is an example of superb acting by Cate Blanchett. I also love the hobbits in the movies of course, and the music when Arwen first appears, Liv Tyler was superb in the movies as well.
In the books, the two most memorable moments for me were when the hobbits first encounter an elf (Gildor I believe) and when Tom Bombadil tries on the ring and is unaffected by it.
Finally I have a place where I can talk Tolkien and all things Middle Earth! LOTRO just doesn't cut it for that, at this point anyway.
