And I hope you don't mind me pointing this out, but Vedui' il'er is not Quenya nor Sindarin but Grey Company Elvish -- that is, a group of roleplayers called Grey Company [confusingly] lifted some words from Tolkien's languages and made up their own phrases.

Vedui is really the word medui which means 'last' in Tolkien's Sindarin language. It does not mean 'greetings' itself, but appears as part of Glorfindel's greeting in the book: Ai na vedui Dúnadan! Mae govannen! 'Ah, at last Westman! [mae govannen] Well met'

Medui becomes mutated to vedui in certain 'situations', as here in Glorfindel's greeting, and in the name Arvedui for another example [without going into why we see the mutation in these different examples].


Anyway, well met and be wary of 'Grelvish' as some call it [which seems to be short for Grey Company Elvish]
