If I remember correctly, you have been twice as active post-wise here compared to CoE.

Well, my post count crawled about the same on both for a time. Being I registered on CoE in 2003 (both names), and here in 2007... yeah, a decided preference I'd say. Add to that my 7861 posts on Minas Tirith (registered August 2000), 8501+ posts on TORC (registered March 2000, banned January 2003), 608 posts on Tolkien Forums (registered December 2001), 524 on Barrow Downs [size=75](Registered August 2000 on EZ Board & registered again December 2002), 825 on Entmoot (registered August 2000), and the 1000+ I had on Ringbearer (registered December 2000 and the board deceased in 2009), you would think I didn't have anything better to do.

Well, I only started with Internet at home in October 2013. Extremely dim memory suggests that somewhere in the mid-to-late nineties, we had Netscape Navigator as a browser (considered far better than IE at that time, and the predecessor by mutation of Mozilla Firefox). Also a Lotus Database system including e-mail, which we only gave up when the company decided to go with Outlook worldwide (and again the MS stuff was considered inferior by our IT specialists). Poking around the Internet from the office a bit started at about that time, dim memories of checking up Amazon for (mostly) English-language books in the 2000s. I also got disgusted with Amazon late in that decade and haven’t gone there since. Intranet in the company came along a bit slowly, as there was too much waffling about internally about internal or external providers. When that got annoying, I decided it was time for me to get an Internet connection at home, at first mostly with a view to e-mails - and the guys at the computer shop recommended (formerly Mozilla) Thunderbird instead of Outlook.
One of the first places I went to was the Tolkien Society (UK), which then led me to CoE. Wikipedia (German and English) may have entered my favorites earlier than CoE, and I also have favorites to the homepages of our first and second TV channel (both public TV).
