Well met! I kinda stumbled in here by curiosity when I did a google search for Arwen Undomiel looking for dresses and costumes and such. I had a look around and thought I would join! So, here I am! I don't know how much or when I'll be on as I work strange hours, but hope to visit enough to meet and get to know some like-minded people who love J.R.R. Tolkien and Middle Earth!
I read the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings just before the Fellowship of the Ring movie came out in 2001. I wanted to read the story before I saw the movie. I like the books best but enjoy the movies!
Feel free to PM me as I have my email notifications on so I will get it. I will go look around some. What forums do you recommend or where do you usually hang?

Welcome, Deumeawyn!  I'm a bit of a newbie on A-U myself, but I have been and remain on another JRRT site for over three years, and my fascination with Middle-earth started over 30 years ago. I find A-U enjoyable, but my interests may be a bit narrow (not into RPs, for example), but there are veterans here who can guide you to your preferences. Have fun!  _________________

Thank you Gandolorin! I had a quick look around yesterday, and found the stories forum. Lots of good reads there, and I only read two! I may have something I could put there, but it would have to be the weekend. RP? I will have to see about that as I had only rpd on chat messenger some time ago.
Right now I'm going to see how to get the pretty avatars and signatures I've seen!

I myself 'usually hang' in the RPG forums, the Book Discussion forums, The Hall of Fire, Mirrormere, Green Dragon, The Golden Hall...

Welcome to the forum!   It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm a bit late on the greetings and it looks like you have done well on introducing yourself to the forum and it's content. Thought I would mention you are doing quite fone in the RP as well since you mentioned you were new to that type of RP. If you do run into any questions or issues feel free to ask any questions. Most of us here are auite helpful and always willing to answer any questions. You mentioned you were looking for costumes. Do you do cosplay or just looking out of curiosity?

An honor to meet you Jax! Thank you for welcoming me and the kind words!
I am kind of feeling my way along with the RP, hoping I’m not messing it up too much. It is fun and seems to get inside your head. I will be at work and I am thinking about developing my character, the history, the story, and such in hopes it isn’t to kitchy.
I did some cosplay but have little time for it these days. I was looking for a dress for a dress for a ‘cosplay’ party my friend is having next month. He said it would be a Middle Earth-Game of Thrones-Malazan themed party but any medieval fantasy characters from other book series are welcome too. It should be fun! And I was thinking I would go as Arwen to a local renaissance fair as well.

Well I'd say you are doing quite fine on the RP. And yes, I know what you mean. I find myself thinking of such things regarding my RPs as well. That's cool. I was never around any one else who did cosplay so I never got to. All my RP has always been online but the cosplay and live in person RP has always sounded really fun.

I have been away for much of the last few months as this new job has been draining every bit of my computering. The last thing I want to do when I get home is get on a computer. But I haven't forgotten about this place and the great story writing that is happening. I hope to catch up and will try and stay current with those I'm in.
