My father has struggled with alcohol addiction for most of my life. We’ve tried to help him many times, but he always relapses. It’s taking a huge toll on our family, and I don’t know how much more we can take. At what point do you stop trying and let go for your own well-being?

That’s a heartbreaking situation. It’s important to take care of yourself too, but knowing when to step back is never easy.

There’s no clear answer on when to step away, but self-care should always be a priority. You can’t force someone to recover if they’re not ready, and sometimes, the best thing you can do is protect your own emotional health. Setting firm boundaries while expressing your love can be a way to let them know you’re there when they’re ready https://unitedrecoveryproject.com/rehab ... want-help/ . Sometimes, stepping back can be the wake-up call they need to finally seek help.
