Oooh, another male member--welcome to the forums! If you're wanting to know anything in particular, just post it here and we'll happily answer it for you :D. But I notice that you haven't got an avatar or signature--here's how to get those:

Go to 'Profile', the link at the very top of the forum. When you scroll down to the very bottom you'll find the 'Avatar Control panel'--there, you can upload a small picture to go underneath your name from your computer, or get one from another website, which you put in the 'Link to off-site avatar' field.

For signatures, on 'Profile', scroll up a litle bit from the avatar control panel and you'll find a box that says to the left of it 'Signature'. Here you can enter any text, pictures etc. to go underneath your posts. Don't try to put in too many pictures--two or three regular sizes are enough, but you're allowed as much text as you can fit into the box. There is a character limit in the signature field; check the little box to the left of this to see how many characters you have left.

Hope this is some help--if you're confused, don't be afraid to ask!

I know, aren't the emoticons great? :bones: We have an emoticons club here, if you want to join it :D

The maker of this site is called Arwen [not Liv Tyler, lol, she's adopted the name Arwen for site purposes], she comes on the forum sometimes so you might get to see her around. Her username is 'Arwen the Webmaster'.

Greetings and :welcome: liam. I'm Elenriel or Elen for short. It's very nice to meet you. I'm so glad you decided to join. There are a lot of great people here for you to meet. Plus, we have a lot of great boards around here-most were already mentioned, but please do feel free to pop into the Misc. Randomness section. PS: The stars are just a ranking. Everytime you reach a certain amount of posts you move up in rank and additional star is added until you reach the top rank of Vala.

The stars are indeed the rating; the more posts you are, the more stars you have. For example, you only have one star because you only have 5 posts--you will get more stars as you get more posts. I have 5 stars because I have 2885 posts. I don't know how many posts you have to get until you get 2 stars, 3 stars etc.--maybe someone else does?

every time you advance a rank, you get a new star. I think Dwarf is next at 70 or so posts so then you get 2 stars. and then after that is Dunadan (sp?), Elf, Maia, and Vala
