Haldir's death made me sad, i guess it's because of the slow motion and the sounds lol. Gandalf's death was a shocker to me too

A verse from Namárië was playing at Haldir's death, and I don't really understand why... Anyway, Boromir's death made me saddest cos we could see the whole process of it, 1 arrow, 2 arrows, 3 arrows until he fell And I find it admirable how he died trying to defend the Hobbits, like he was trying to redeem himself after his attempt on taking the Ring from Frodo. Then when he said "My king" to Aragorn just before his death... And the boat with his body going down the fall of Rauros

I'd have to say Boromir, Haldir, and Gandalf, in that order. Boromir's death was so emotional because we know that he redeems himself and I had the strongest emotional connection with him because I think that he's the most complex character. Haldir's death was also emotional both because it's very graphic and, like others have said, it just seems wrong to see an elf die, even if the elves were never at Helm's Deep in the book. Personally, Gandalf's actual death wasn't as hard to watch because I knew that he eventually comes back, but the other actors' performances plus the music make it extremely powerful and sad.

Boromir, because his death was like clearing his soul from the Ring's dirt. He was saving the hobbits, who he considered enemies before. And his death was also very glorious, because he died fighting for what he believed even if situation was lost and he knew that.
