A marathon is when you do one thing continuously for a long time. For instance, an LOTR marathon would be watching all three movies one after another, on the same day.
LOL, I won't, I promise!

Ooh! I've been wanting to have an LotR marathon recently, I haven't had one yet this summer. I'll have to watch for Legolas blinking...

Well, all you have to do is watch fotr, and then watch Legolas as he goes through the snow, and if anyone thinks he's not blinking then maybe they need to blink a little more.

Very interesting discussion. I haven't noticed it, but then again I don't look for blinking elves. I would watch the DVD right now but I'm going out tonight so I don't have time.

Also, in TTT, Legolas blinks when he says "Isengard" in "They're taking the hobbits to Isengard!" (I've watched that video too many times )

Okay, I've finally found the sire where I read that they don't blink. Here's the quote taken from
http://www.warofthering.net/ahobbitstal ... movies.htm
":: No blinking Elf admitted ::
Tolkien's Elves don't blink their eyes, and Peter Jackson followed the rule in the Trilogy. There isn't a single shot, in all of the three movies, where an Elf is seen blinking. The actors had to be careful during the filming. Peter Jackson, however, felt like adding a wink of his own to the fans and broke that rule once. At the end of The Return Of The King, there is a shot of Aragorn and his companions watching Barad-Dûr falling down. When legolas' face appears in a close-up, he blinks ! Only something as big as Sauron's defeat could make an Elf blink..."
I guess they must be mistaken?

No, I think they must be mistaken. I've never read any of Tolkien's works which said that they didn't. And in the movie Elrond certainly blinks during the council. So they must blink...

I find this to be a bit silly. It's pretty hard not to blink. I definitely recall seeing Haldir blink and Elrond too if I remember correctly. *remembers everything Haldir more XD*
