Yeah like today at school we were thinking of how-to-speech topics and two of the three i said was how to make Lembas and how to braid an elvish braid. hehehe. and for tomorrw, a few of my friends are celebrating: "...And it's October the 24th of you want to know." (gandalf~FotR), and on the 25, we're "celebrating" (kelebrating, hawhaw....) THE COUNCIL OF ELROND! hehehe

Today my dad walked up to me, and the following conversation ensued:
My dad: You didn't remind me!
Me: Remind you of what?
My dad: Today's the 24th! What's the 24th?
Me: The day Frodo woke up in Rivendell!
My dad: No!
*I'm laughing, my dad is pretending to be irritated*
My dad: It's Zambian Independence Day! (We lived in Zambia, Africa when I was little)
Yeah... my family thinks I'm nuts...

Lol, none of my friends are numbered among the major fans of LotR, unfortunately. I think they've all seen it, and liked it, and a few have read the books (some of the books, at least), but nobody is even close to being as big of a fan of it as I am, so I have to constantly hold back so I don't have a one-sided conversation about the awesomness of LotR and Middle-earth. So I can pretty much only ramble on about it online, on forums like this one.

All of my friends pretend to be irritated when I talk about LotR incessantly, but I caught one of them on a LotR site I had said they must look at. They told me that they couldn't be bothered, etc. and now they're on there regularly!

Exactly the same with me.
^Bowandarrow, that's really funny! I've tried converting a few of my friends to LotR obsessionism, but it doesn't work very well.

I KNOW!!!!!!! a similar thing happened betweeen me and my teacher!! and me and my ringer friends "celebrated" october the 24th at school! it was so fun! and the council of Elrond. it was hilarious. I asked my teacher if he had read LotR and he said yes and that he read them when he was younger and he's read them a few times! isn't that sweet???????? i have a somewhat-ringer teacher!!! and another one of my teachers said that i help her keep up with all the LotR events beacause i write them in my daily planner. hehehe. and she asked if the "Council of Elrond" was a gathering of Ringers or something. great idead for next year! !!!!!!!!!!

It wouldn't ever work for me. I've never had a teacher who's even a semi-Ringer. The only two I've had that have read LotR aren't really all that enthusiastic about it.

Once I walked into class late... and the teacher wondered why. So I was like "I wizard is never late... nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to."
I got very odd looks, partly because I referred to myself as a "he" ... and most people don't remember lines from LotR so they had no idea what I was rambling about. And I got in trouble for giving the teacher "attitude"...

Well, neither my family nor most of my friends are LOTR fans, so the internet is the only place for me to discuss LOTR related topics without confusing other people.

*laughs slightly* My only teacher is my mom, and she's a slight Ringer, so I guess that counts as having all my teachers be Ringers.

Same here; I don't think anyone at my school would even know what movie "lembas" was from if I tried to do something. *sigh*

The other day I was "sword" fighting with a college guy, and I said at one point "if you were an orc, I would have killed you be now." And he didn't know what an orc was. That was most irritating.
