I do talk about it at school actually. Most of my friends are into Harry Potter, but two of them still like LotR (in fact we were the only three who had read it in our class in year 7).
I told them about the council of elrond site caption game the other day and they were on the humor section for practically all of our lunch break. Though I wouldn't publically announce myself as a LotR obsesser in class XD
haha that game is fun! So is LotR Risk but my sister is forever beating me and killing my precious elves! It's because I'm too protective of Mirkwood and Imladris hehe

My older brother occassionally convinces me to play LotR risk with him, and he always wins. He's always bad, and I'm always good... and I always protect Rivendell and Lorien uncessingly, which isn't a very good strategy (as I've discovered, though I still do it).

I would die for lotr risk. Well, no, cause then I wouldn't get to play it
I've developed a strategy for playing board games by myself, cause no one at my house ever wants to play. It's pretty funny, actually, because I'll be sitting there playing with myself and people walk by and start laughing at me.

em, lotr ris sounds fun, ut I don't like normal risk, so mebbe not.
And way to go, *elemmire*! It takes a very special type of person to play games with themselves. (And I mean that in a good way:))

Some stupid people (boys mostly) used to tease me of being a Ringer, but they don't do it anymore.. but sometimes yes. Usually I don't speak of LotR with my school mates or any non-LotR person. the annoying thing is, that there are potterheads in our class, but no Ringers. when we were talking about China in geography lesson, our teacher asked what did the chinese call themselves, and he also said :"this is what Tolkien stole" If I would've dared, I would've shouted Tolkien stole nothing but I didn't. and then my friend Julia blurts out "hobbits!" everyone laughed.. especially me and her.. that was so funny! it mightn't sound like it but it was

"celebrated" Craig Parker's b-day and also two of my friends have the same b-day as him so we celebrated nov 16th for three people. it was fun.

Hehe. I know that feeling. We really should try to find a way to play it online...
Anyway. Once, in orchestra, we were playing a LotR piece, and the diorector and I got into a long conversation about what specific part of the movie one phrase was used in.
We got a lot of weird stares. but ti was fun.

hehehe! that sounds cool! what song? i would love to play a LotR song with my bell choir, but i don't think it would really work...whenever me and my friends try to talk about LotR around my music teacher, he always says we're crazy (in a funny but serious way) and rolls his eyes. it's so frustrating! hehe
