I would love if a movie was released wherein teh story of Frodo's adoption and everything of the Sacville-Bagginses was told. Also stuff about timelines of otehr characters, after all, the world of middle-earth is soo vast i'm sure they could pull out another movie from the lord of the rings characters alone even if they didnt make the Simliarion or The hobbit!

Maybe it could be a mini-movie but I can't imagine that being a full-length movie with the excitement/climatic ending, etc.

Ditto to that. I wouldn't want to go see it if they tried it. Tolkien didn't give enough info to make a full-length movie, which means they'd have to make a lot of stuff up, which would really be annoying, so I wouldn't go.

a hobbit movie about life in the shire would be like a cross between emedale farm and the ewoks.

well i disagree. I think Tolkien has provided us with appedix, that alone is enough for someone to go on and interpret things with...

I am not just saying that it would be about Hobbits! I'm saying events like leading up to Aragorn's passing, and Sam's children etc. You know! Goodness me!
The Appendices give so much in terms of timelines i'm not saying it's going to happen, it probably never will, i'm just saying that it would be an interesting idea seeing as there are so many things that are yet to be concluded

They should make a movie of the short bits and pieces... like this, Tom Bombadil, things like that that would be fun/helpful, etc.

If they made that then they would and should make all of Tolkiens work.

I agree about the appendices, but not all of Tolkien's work.. I mean really, who would even attempt to put the Silmarillion on screen? That would be nigh impossible.
