I´m happy that my mom likes LotR. But she always want to see the scenes with the good charakters. When there is for example an ork scene, she always leaves the room...

Wow, I'm surprised at how many parents think LotR is 'evil'. My mum doesn't really like fantasy, but she thinks it's good that I love it so much. She likes to read biographies and historical fiction though. I know she doesn't really like Harry Potter at all, but I read them anyway, not out of disrespect but because I'm an adult and am capable of making judgements about the books I read. Still you've got to allow parents to have their own opinions about things. And you have to realise that parents can get really obsessive about what their kids are doing. They are afraid of their children getting involved in things that are truly bad--so that's why they go overboard sometimes.

Plus the LOTR monopoly, Three in one books and the LOTR games.

My parents don't give about it, but they both went with me to see the ROTK in the cinema. My little brother only likes Starwars and when I'm crying about LOTR he says : what are you doing???
But lucky me I have also got a little sister, she's 6 years old and she loves LOTR, or lord of the wings as she calls it. She knows all character by name and she even knows most of the actors!!! GO little elf, I love you!!!

My mum doesn't like LOTR, HP, Narnia.. or any other books I read. She say's it wastes my time because I read those stories instead of studying

lol! About 6 months ago I wouldn't read anything other than Harry Potter or talk about anything other than Harry Potter. Then she wanted me to get hooked on something else because she was sick of HP. I went to Canada on a holiday and my cousins called my sister "FRODO" (I didn't know who Frodo was) asked them why they were calling her that and they said that she looked like FRodo from LOTR, and I asked them what Frodo looked like. SO they showed me LOTR and I really enjoyed it, then my mum was happy because I wasn't obbsessed with HP! Yeah... so my parents like LOTR =D
