My whole family is into LOTR. Going to see LOTR in theatres was kind of like a family affair. And my mom was actually the one who got me into LOTR. She read my brother and I the books when we were kids. If it wasn't for her I probably wouldn't be into LOTR as much.

omg you're sooo lucky, my whole family thinks I'm crazy and my sisters always try to upset me by saying something like "Oh no, not LotR again. I really hate all that..." but I don't really care about what they think about LotR as long as they let me be a fan of it ;)

hey!
i dont see why some ppl HATE lotr. its just a movie/book after all. its fine with me if some1 doesnt like it, but i think theres no reason to HATE it, what's so bad abt it? dont they understand what it really means to some ppl??? everyone has ofcourse watched the movies, but in my friends there's no one who's a Ringer, thats why i came here... :)

in LOTR there's just the something that's missing in eg. Harry Potter or Narnia (sorry for potter or narnia fans, but its true) friendship, loyalty, will to sacrifice, love, love to all that is good...the whole spirit of the thing that you can relate to. anyone agree???

thats what i think and its sad/good that no one exept tolkien has managed to create something lik lotr. sad in the way that there's no other, but good so that tolkien and lotr are something special! ;)

yeah me too!!! and im happy that here in arwen-undomiel.com i can meet with other Ringers, (improve my english writign skills) and be MYSELF! there's no one in our class who's a Ringer or even a normal fan! SOOO annoying, although it's their loss, to NOT be part of something so magnificent! ;)

^ That goes for me as well! In my family, or in my whole school there's no one who's as interested in Tolkien's works as I am! Some have seen the movies and think that they are great work, but nothing more... I'm the only one and sometimes I really feel like an outsider there..
And in my family... there's only my grandma who tries to be interested, but no one else... It is not that they hate these stories, but they just don't like me to talk all the time just about LotR, Tolkien and this forum... They are bored.
So, this is the only place to talk about LotR, I'm so glad that I have found this forum! No one else is listening to me, they all think I'm crazy or something...
