If not the better, certainly the wiser. And awesome-er (is that a word? )
Congrats on becoming a Dunadan Earlinde!
Yeah, I really don't understand it. LOTR bashing is useless unless its purpose is to annoy us. We laready love LOTR too much to ever be dissuaded from it, and they must know we're never going to stop trying to get the world to love it. I think the world needs to start following the old "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" policy.

My mam knows how much i love lord of the rings and for some reason she keeps saying I'm going to marry Elijah Wood [i wish] lol.
Anyways i'm constantly playing the sountracks at home...and she loves the music. I remember one night i was sitting listening to it and she was asking me what was happening as each peice of music played [as in what scene] She keeps telling me that she should watch it but i think she'd struggle to grasp the story. She hates things that are too mind boggling, but because she knows how much i love it, i believe one day she'll give it a go.

Maybe you should watch the movies with her, and explain the things she possibly doesn't understand. I love classical music in general!!!and Celtic also!! Do you guys know (sorry this is a bit offtopic) some great classical music composers from America? I know only these Bach, Mozart (<3), Beethoven, Sibelius, Haydn, Chopin etc. just curious..

I don't know much about classical. It can be good to listen to every once in a great while, but I know nothing about the different composers. I loathe Bach, but that's probably only because I had to do a paper on his life and he was very boring.
I think the music from LOTR is wonderful, and I think it's really cool that your mum likes it Frodo's Guide. Music is a good way to introduce people to something. People respond to it. They're interested in it. They connect with it.
As for watching it with you mum, I's day watching it with her to explain is a good idea. Maybe even pause the movie every once in awhile to make sure she knows what's going on. I think it's best to watch it with someone who knows it well the first time because you'll appreciate it more, and understand it better.

Aww. Thanks Earlinde. I'm glad I made your day! It makes my day that I made your day! Alright. Enough sappiness for one post.
Another good way to get people to watch LOTR (Sorry, this only works on girls): Show/tell them how many gorgeous guys are in the movie. That way, even if they are deluded enough to think the plot line is boring ( ), they'll be able to spend their 10+ hours looking at some seriously good looking guys.

The probem is, she doesn't like Orli, or Elijah, or any1 else in LotR movies. She likes only Antti and Daniel Radcliffe. But I'll try it to my other friends, thanks for the tip!

She doesn't like any of the LOTr actors? You've got to be joking! Those movies are overlfowing with good looking guys! Just one more reason to enjoy and love them. That's pretty insane. Not even Orlando Bloom? I thought everyone thought he was attractive. I'm shocked. But I hope it works on your other friends. Good luck!

Yep. She doesn't, not even Orlando Bloom incredible, he's the hottest guy on earth, and my friend doesn't like him!!? but my other friend Julia likes him also very much and we use to send little notes during lessons (childish for a middle schooler, I know) and discuss him and his new movies etc.

That's not so childish. I used to do the same. When lessons get boring, you have to have something to talk about.
My friend actually used to have pictures of Orlando in the back of her planner for school, so we would also look at those and drool all over them. While I'm not the crazed orlando Bloom fan I used to be, I still think he's undeniably attractive, one of the best looking guys out there.
For guy friends to watch LOTR: Guys love action, right? They love blood and guts and gore, right? So that's how you get them to watch LOTR. You describe the epic battles with buckets of blood, Orc heads impaled on a stake, people having their limbs skewered off. The usually fall for it. Or, there are also some very pretty girls in LOTR, so some of them might like to watch it for that.

I do that sometimes for no apparent reason. I'll just remember something funny that happened, and start laughing. and people give me funny looks. But I don't mind.
Actually, when my friend graduated a hyear ahead of me, she took the pictures out and gave them to me. I still have them. And, ok, I still look at them sometimes......

I'm probably older then most of you, but when I watched FOTR, and found out the were soon offering an extended edition, I instantly ordered it.
What to do with the regular DVD? Send it to my father, which I did, and the next year I sent him the regular DVDs of the other 2 movies, as I have all 3 extendeds. This was about 1 1/2 years ago. I asked him recently if he ever watched them? NOPE.
Make me want to blow lunch.
