LUCKY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My mom is willing to read LOTR and watch it, but she is always taking care of one of my siblings when we watch it. Poor mom! |

My mom doesn't really like any fantasy book or movie, so she isn't into LotR. She has watched some bits and pieces during my countless times of watching it though, so she has a general idea about the story and the main characters. And she's always been very supportive of my obsession with it, which was and is awesome

My dad? I think he likes LotR too. Mostly because of the inner meaning Tolkien put in it Everyone in my family loves LotR, at least a tiny bit

My dad saw LOTR in the theaters. He likes it a lot, but can never remember the characters names. He calls Eowyn "the little blonde girl" lol but he is going to read the books when he gets a chance. |

I have a friend who loves Harry Potter but she hates The Lord of the Rings. Oh well... I guess LOTR isn't for everyone, but I'm surprised that some people don't like it. It's such an epic story and I figured if she was a fan of J.K Rowling, she would be a fan of Tolkien. I think the fact that some people shun LOTR is because they think it's too complicated or boring. |

Only a few of us have read the books though. |

Mother: Has read the book before the films. Way before the films. She likes the films. Doesn't quite understand my obsession with Tolkien and always says that if I spent the time and energy I waste on Tolkien (and Harry Potter) on other things, I could get so much more done. As for my siblings. Both have read the book. 1 loved the book when they were younger (years before the first film) and does like the films but not as obsessively as I do. As for the other one, not sure. Again, I think they like the films (and the book) but not as obsessively as I do.

I actually read the Hobbit as a bedtime story to both my younger brother and sister. I figured since our parents don't like it, there should be at least someone to show them some real good books! Sadly it didn't really help, they're both not big readers and not really into LotR. |
