What did you guys make of this? I was astounded to see that so many things from this 1978 movie were interpreted into the real movies lol but i hated the fact that Sam looked like an ugly hobbit and Smeagol was cockney. I must say that i like the fact that its a cartoon and its lord of the rings. I love LOTR obviously and i love cartoons so i was happy on that level. Also, Sauruman looks friendlier than Gandalf...what was going on there then?? |

ECH! I saw the Hobbit cartoon...I thought it was...well...BAD. They DID look cutesy...but they cut Beorn and some of the best parts out, made the Mirkwood elves look like ents, and...well...yech. Gandalf looked freaky.  Sorry, I don't mean to flame or anything, I just didn't like it nearly as well as the movies.
I DID see a few pics of the LotR cartoon, I thought Galadriel and Arwen looked pretty, and laughed @ the Gondorian helmets. They look like the winged viking helms. |

there's a cartoon of LOTR????? awesome! lol. i really didn'ta gree on how they portrayed the elves.they looked like plants with legs...they were so...idk. i thought the elves were supposed to be fair folk?? lol but htat hobbit cartoonw as really cute! except for that song that played the entire time lol. me and my friends had an awesome random time watching it. lol. |

Don't worry --- it IS bad. That's the Bakski version. Very bad. It got to me when Saruman the White was miraculously wearing Red. |

I've never seen the animated version of LOTR. I've only seen bits and pieces of the animated version of The Hobbit and honestly, I thought it was kinda...bad

Ha! Yeah me too! I think it's a wacky thing but obvioulsy does no justice whatsoever to Tolkien and it is absolutley nothing compared to the real thing [Obviously] lol

*snigger* ther's a book of it in my old school's libary. It looked, well, stupid. No offence to anyone who liked it, but it just made us laugh, I don't think I could keep a straight face if I tried to sit through it. I mean, the nazgul's legs, Boromir's shorts, and the Balrog looking like the great animal off the swan princess, Galadriel looking like a hippy...man, I'm cracking up now! |
