Post subject:  Mistaken LOTR Lines

Does anyone have any mistaken lines? My bro thought Gandalf said "Frolic you fools" instead of fly you fools.

my brother used to think that gandalf said: 'and in the darkness spite them' instead of 'and in the darkness bind them.' i thought that was rather silly.

My lil sis after seeing the scene with Eowyn and the Witchking kept shouting "I am no fan!" and did the Aragorn lineage as 'Aragorn, son of a thorn, hair of a soldier". Weird....

I used to say "You shall not pass" instead of "You cannot pass" and I'm still not quite sure which is correct

it's seriously "you cannot pass?" :duh: I (and my friends) thought I was "you shall not pass." hmm... :confused2: yeah, people seem to confused Sauron and Saruman a lot. majority of the time, I'm quite the opposite. If there's a word similar to one out of lotr, I see the lotr word, not the normal word. I think argon is Aragorn and Middle East is middle earth and tons more. as you can see, it's a bad idea for me to read aloud in science and social studies. hehe. :-D

Okay, to ease this discussion of what gandalf says, i shall quote the scene:

Quote:
Gandalf: You cannot pass!

Frodo: Gandalf!

(A blazing light radiates from Gandalf’s staff, illuminating the entire bridge and its surroundings)

Gandalf: I am the servant of the Secret Fire, wielder of the flame of Anor. The dark fire will not avail you! flame of Udûn!

(The Balrog strikes down on Gandalf with a flaming sword. Gandalf parries the blow with Glamdring, shattering the Balrog’s sword)

Gandalf: Go back to the Shadow!

(The Balrog brandishes a flaming whip, lashing it about menacingly)

Gandalf: YOU…SHALL NOT...PASS!!

Thus, you see, it is in fact both. The more famous of the two is "You SHALL not pass," as it is uttered with far more willpower and strength, but he does say "You cannot pass" as well. I personally go for the former rather than the latter, but you say either :-D

For the longest time when Aragorn says "Legolas get them up" after the fellowship escaped Moria I though he said "Legolas get the map".
