Those are all really funny
I remember, when i first saw the movie, i hadn't read the book, and i heard Mary instead of Merry, and i was like "What?!" I know, it's weird...

^ lol, my brother did the same thing! I never could understand what Gandalf said before he fell off the bridge in Moria, I heard all sorts of strange things like 'climb you fools' and 'sigh you fools'.

Oh, my goodness, I love this thread! I can't stop laughing!

This isn't exactly a mistaken line, but when the Fellowship is running through the last bridges at Moria, the Dwarvish singing in the soundtrack sounds really like "who's got salami"!

Oh, there, when i hear the music, at a part it's really like as if the song said "Bilbo! Bilbo!"

In FotR, for the longest time I could have sworn Frodo said "I thought you wanted to see the old sap" as opposed to "I thought you wanted to see the elves, Sam"

When Aragorn was about to leave for the Paths of the Dead, and Gimli was telling him they were coming with him I thought he called him 'Ari' for some reason, like shortening his name, and actually I just recently finally got that it was laddie....at least I hope it is! lol!!.....that is what he says right? lol!

^^ I thought that too, Lithôniel, and it made me feel really stupid for a while because I created a LotR OC named Arabella (like my username) who went by the nickname Ari. So for a while I thought "Oh no, I've stolen his name!". It wasn't until I was watching it very loudly one day while someone in my family was vacuuming in the next room that I realized he does actually say "laddie," just like he does in Two Towers when Aragorn arrives in Helm's Deep.

I never got any mistakes because I always watched the movies with subtitles! But I never watched the movies in the theaters because they came out when I was a little kid. :)

When Aragorn told Legolas to "Get them up," I thought he told him in elvish to "Settle down" ...again.

And for the longest time I wondered why there was no caption...

:duh: As soon as I figured it out, I just about exploded. :explode:

When Galadriel speaks her greeting in Frodo's mind in FotR, I could never figure out what she was saying when she says "one who has seen the eye."

Ariadne: When she said that at first I thought she said, "One who has seen the pie."

For the longest time I was pondering the mysteries of what the heck was so special about a pie. :confused2:

I used to say "You shall not pass" instead of "You cannot pass" and I'm still not quite sure which is correct

Gandalf says the former after saying "Go back to the shadow!" and the latter before "I am the servant of the Secret Fire, wielder of the Flame of Anor!"
