I chose immortal! Imagine the things you'd see and experience, the changes of time and you would definitely have to time to see the entire world - every single country (which is something I want to do but know it'd never be possible to see them all in my lifetime!).
Even though the elves were immortal they could still die if killed so if I'd get bored eventually with my eternal life I could always end it myself, right? Just knowing that you'll be able to decide for how long you're going to live is an amazing thing!

I put a mortal life. I don't think I'd be determined as much if I knew I had literally all the time in the world to do something. I'd treasure life more as a mortal.

~RinielAranel~ wrote: well...*cough* I would probably chose immortal. Not just because of the whole "I wanna never die!" Thing, but because with so much time I'd be able to accomplish a lot. I'd be able to see a lot, and have tons of experience. You could keep going for a long time...
However, you might be completely alone if you are immortal...how awful to be surrounded by people you knew you would have to watch die someday! You'd probably end up seperating yourself and not making close friends anymore. *sigh*
I'd really is a complicated decision.
I agree...I chose immortal. I think it would take me quite a while to get bored, because I'm very good at entertainging myself! And I would get to travel all around, see everything!

Most people would probably want to be immortal, I mean who wouldn't want to live forever.
But instead, I'd choose to be mortal. Why you may ask, well I'll tell you. Who would want to live forever watching close friends and family die, and times change. Life would be completely worthless and I wouldn't know how to spend all that time when I would have no one to spend it with. I would probably give up on making friends for fear of becoming too close and then losing them.
In other words, all the losses would be too much for me to bear.

Mortal. For many reasons already discussed, like those of Eru and Larael. Life is worth living because we know it going to run out, maybe, if i could make my life-span a little longer, like the Dunadan, then that would be all right, but not forever....nope.

I think I'd rather be mortal.
The way Arwen put it sums my explanation pritty well, but I think life would be more precious to some one with limited life than someone who would be immortal.
(For me immortality would be a life of pain, seeing all the people I love fade away and my life right now isn't so great so that partly effects what I chose )

Mortal. There's so much to experience, and you would want to live each day. And everything is wonderful, not just eeh.

I don't want to live forever though I chose immortal. I chose immortal, because I don't want to die when it's just not the right moment and I don't wanna die slowly like because of a disease..

I'm not too surprised or shocked that some would be immortal cause of elves and reasons of their own.
I think being immortal would be fun for a while, but I chose mortal. I don't think we're talking about immortal like elf-style which is when they are killed by an object they die (or grievance.) We're talking about like immortal like Tuck Everlasting. I wouldn't want to see others dying around me and grieving. I would be happy to die happy. My dad always said you have plenty of time to sleep when your dead. So I'm trying to make my life useful by living up my life. If your always awake when can you sleep?

I chose immortal because one, I'm scared of death, and two, think of all you could do if you were immortal! The lives you could touch, the people you could help!
