It's a great idea!
Some people can think "its almost like reading a history, how can it be in a movie?"
It can be a great film- or maybe just for LOTR fans?

Silmarillion would be an amazing movie, but I for one would not wish to see it made. For me, the whole beauty of the Silmarillion is that it's whatever your imagination makes it to be. When reading LOTR, I always get pictures in my mind of the characters from the films. However, when reading Sil I always get images in my mind representing what I believe the characters/places to be like, that are completely uninfluenced by any thing other than Tolkien's works

I completely agree with you 100%. :) I mean the silmarillion would make a very fascinating and amazing movie but it would be way to complex and seeing as how Tolkien died before he managed to complete it I still think he might of wanted to do sum modifications to it. I read it though and I think it's an amazing book but, better left to the imagination. ;)

hoho.....PJ have searched all hs male and beautiful female in New Zealand, poor man...
I don`t know if it`s right to make a cartoon film for Sil......because,look at the cartoon they made for the Lotr and Hobbits series,I don`t want to see the unhappy and horrfic cartoon films like Lotr`s cartoon designs once more! :bones: :bones:

Well, quite frankly I don't think the Silmarillion will ever be made into a movie, even though it was a great book. Trying to digitally create 600 Balrogs would be quite hard, then you would have thousands of characters you would have to do digitally, thousands of props, and the digital work alone would take over ten years. The tale of Beren & Luthien could be done, though, with great difficulty. I've thought about going into film making and getting a good 3D program, then I find out it takes a long time to make a short part of film that complete 3D except the ground......

u never know it might be made sometime in the future.i think it would be a great movie,or it might be better to make it into a couple of movies because of the length.
oh yeah it would take a helluva lot of CGI to make it properly, and that means it would take a helluva lot of money and time too.and i dont think they would go to all the trouble of making it unless it promised to do exceptionally well (thats the thing with movies today, its all about how much money it makes in profit).
