I guess since I read the books before seing the movies, Gandalfs death didnt bother me as much because i knew he will come back! Theodens death was very sad, but Boromirs was worse becuase you knew he saved Merry and Pippins life, along with killing a lot of orcs. It is never right to see a dead elf...

It's sadder watching the deaths when people watching with you cry... all the emotion gets tangled in the air and you feel so sad

I voted Boromir.. it was so sad. he was trying to help the hobbits..
Also he was one of my favourite characters so it was sad to see him go.

Gandalfs fall was very impressive, but somehow I knew, without reading the books or antything, that he should come back. Gandalf dead: it was impossible...
But choosing between Boromir, Haldir and Theoden is very hard.. They all (almost) make me cry.

I picked Boromir! It was so valiant and sad... Gandalf's didn't make me sad b/c i had read the books and i knew he was not really dead. (we are just talking about the movies right?) Theodred's didn't make me sad b/c we didn't know him at all. Haldir was pretty sad too but Boromirs is sadder.

I voted Gandalf, because he is so wise and so always there. He was present in The Hobbit and all three of the LotR books. If he died, that'd be very depressing, because that would mean that he would no longer be present here and there and anywhere.

i voted Boromir. it was just so hard to watch arrow after arrow pierce him. and like, it was longer and more tragic than Gandalf's, or Haldir's...and after he had tried to save the hobbits and everything! but it was pretty close between Boromir and Theoden. his was long, too.

Either Haldir or Boromir. Haldir because it was just so wrong to see an elf die and HE DIDN'T DIE IN THE BOOKS!!!. Boromir because he fought til the end and didn't stop fighting until he had been shot by three arrows. The slow motion and the music made it even sadder.

Oh I know and the looks on Merry and Pippin's faces... they were in pure shock that a great warrior like Boromir could ever be brought down...

Boromir's death was the saddest for me for the same reasons as other people have given. You just realize that he's not such a bad guy after all and then he dies. And the convo between him and aragorn before he dies is so sad
Theodon's death was horrible as well though. Eowyn is my favorite character and it was so sad to see her uncle die. Not to mention how sad it was that he wouldn't be in the movie anymore, Bernard Hill did such a good job as Theodon.
Haldir's death didn't really make me sad, it just made me mad. I was yelling at the tv "What the hell?! He's not supposed to die!!! He's not even supposed to be there!!" lol.

I say Boromir, just because it's so tragic that only when he's mortally wounded does he really display wisdom that would have helped him a LOT if he lived. Gandalf comes in second, but hey, I knew he was coming back! Theoden would be third, Haldir fourth, and Theodred fifth (b/c you never really get to know Theo at all).

It's funny... Boromir's death was one of the saddest but I never used to cry... but the other day it really got to me somehow.

I voted for Theoden! it's such a sad and powerful moment in the film. I cried the first time I saw that scene
