duh i like Eowyn. I relate to her the most and she is like a great role model, to me at least.

Eowyn all the way! When you look at all she's done, Arwen doesn't even come close to her.
Everyone told Eowyn to quietly stay at home and not fight, but she stood up to them and saved a lot of people by slaying the Witch King. So she proved them all wrong: she could do something in this war, even if that meant sacrificing herself.
I think Eowyn's a great model for her bravery and her desire to be free.

I like both!

Eowyn and Arwen have many similarities that people don't notice. They are both very strong women both in heart and in strength of arms, and they both have very beautiful stories.

Arwen's is a story of true love and sacrifices, while Eowyn's is a story of defying the odds and finding herself. Both women change drastically from the beginings of the movie and the books to shape who they are and to find their callings.

So, yeah, I love 'em both!

They're both great women and great characters both in the books and even as role models for women today...hard choice.

But Eowyn's my fave...I relate to her more...

They're both to be admired. Like countless people have said, comparing them is comparing apples to oranges. They're not similar enough for us to be able to say one is 'better', really.

Heck, I'm Galadriel or Sam in most of the personality quizzes I take, and goodness knows that's not very accurate- never trust those things.

I agree, I admire them both for different reasons. But I'd have to say Eowyn, because she is one of my top favorite characters, and I love her story a lot, while I simply respect Arwen's. (not to insult anyone - Arwen is pretty cool, too.)

Hm, in personality tests based on the movies, I usually get Eowyn, while on ones actually based on the real characters, not stereotypes, I get Legolas. (Not the perfect, image-obsessed Legolas movie stereotype version, the loyal, skillful, intelligent actual-character version. )

I like both Arwen and Eowyn equally. I'm more drawn to Arwen though, partly because I'm a huge Elf fan. . .

And on most of the personality tests that I take, I'm usually most like Arwen, or Frodo.

I ADORE Arwen. I always liked her better than Eowyn, always. That's not to say I dislike Eowyn, but I always loved Arwen from the fist time I saw FotR. She was my absolute favorite. I don't ever pay attention to personality tests, I come up different every time, but Arwen is MINE and always will be!

I like Arwen, but I love Éowyn because her story, until Gandalf heals Theoden, is very similar to my own history, and so I understand her and know exactly what she's going through.
If it wouldn't be this way, maybe I would have liked Arwen better.

I love both of them but Eowyn slightly more for the same reasons as everyone else: she gets out there and fights even when others tell her not to.
