Question: Is Anduril pronounced ANduril or AnDURil or AndurIL? A friend wanted to know...personally, I think it's the first one, but what do other people think?

I always pronounce it like Ánduin, but I'm not sure if this is really right... :confused2:

I pronounce it AHN-dur-il.

I've heard people say it 'an' instead of 'ahn', so I guess either could be right.

Question #2: How is Anduin pronounced? I've always said it AHN-doo-in...

Well, in Andúril the accent is on the u, meaning to put the stress on the second syllable.

And in Anduin... hmm.. as far as I remember there isn't any accents in that word, but I think I faintly remember that the stress will be on the third to last syllable of Elvish words, so it would be pronounced AHN-doo-een (of English speakers).

*points to earlier post*

I would still say it is anDUril because the accent goes on the u - Andúril

And ANduin because there is no accents.
But I cannot claim to an expert on Elvish.

Perhaps you should ask the question on the Language board.

I say the second one, because that's how Elrond pronounced it, and it rings in my head.

Also it depend if you've got an accent as well (that isn't elvish, I mean naturally)
