I always just explode into tears when I watch ROTK and the scene where Aragorn, Gandalf, Pip, Merry and co are in the black gate and the gate opens. ´That's where i dont cry, yet. Then after they think Frodo is dead because of the mithril coat and Saruman's mouths words etc. when the enemy pours out and gathers around them, (i still dont cry, but wait) when Aragorn speaks the 'i see the same fear in your eyes that would take the heart of me...blaa...sons of gondor...blaa. .. it is not this day...blaa...this day we fight' speech, tears are starting to glisten in my eyes, but when he turns tears in his eyes, and whispers: 'For Frodo' i absolutely cant get the grip anymore, and weep and weep for ages, it's an absolutely 'beautiful-touching-wellacted-worth-of-crying' - scene. And when barad dur falls and mt doom explodes, they know Frodo has destroyed the Ring, but then they realise that it had claimed his life, they are desperate. That is a scene/chapter that greatly expresses the real emotionality of lotr, that does not exist in other books/movies! Does anyone else feel the same?

exactly. I always have tears in my eyes when they see Barad dûr and the Morannon fall and realise that Sauron was defeated and then you see them look at all that and the music is sooo awesome, that's so beautiful. LotR has some special kinds of emotions in it that other stories don't have and that's just sooo cool.

Wow...that is exactly what I feel, too. The whole speech of Aragorn is very touching, grand words...and you have tears in your eyes. And then comes this little sentence "For Frodo" which shows the friendship and the courage to stand against an enemy that they can never defeat, but they still trust Frodo, although it looks so desperate. And then I just break into tears and cry, cry...
There are several scenes in LotR that are so touching. Also the Grey Havens - I always cry the most at the end :-)

^Yeah, Ringers feel the strongly emotional scenes in lotr, either by crying or leaping off their seat and crying out with joy!

The scene that makes me cry every time is the one where Frodo tells Sam to 'go home'. The first time I saw that in theatres I hated Frodo, I hated him, and I hated Gollum even more. Every time I see it I get mad at Frodo and start crying. I'm always the only one...

you're NOT the only one, me too! i cry (not really much but a little) in that scene. here are my top6 crying scenes: 1) Grey Havens the whole scene makes me weep and cry like my eyes off, it's so touching and sad!!!

2) The Breaking of the Felloship (the whole part where boromir dies, frodo leaves, merry&pip are captured, everything)

3) When frodo lifts sam out of the water into the boat and hugs him, so touching!

4) Aragorns kingly 'sons of gondor - it is not this day - this day we fight- speech + 'For Frodo'- speech

5)When Frodo has destroyed the Ring, and when he and Samwise are sure of their deaths, outside Orodruin, when Frodo says 'I'm glad you're here with me, Sam, here in the end of all things' so heart breaking!

6) 'Go home, Sam' it's so sad the way Frodo says it, he doesn't shout, but what's worse, he says it in a cold, heartless tone, to the one and only helper he had/has, who has helped him so much!

Yeah, I'm always crying by the end for sure. *sniff* But I never liked the Frodo sending Sam home thing...twasn't in the book, you know...oh well, it is still very emotional, and that's just something PJ decided to do.

Oh yes the scene I cry most at is the Grey Havens scene. It's so.... arrgh I can't express it, it has so much depth and beauty and just everything.. but I cry at a lot of other scenes, either because they're so sad or because they're so beautiful and just touching. I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one.. :)

I usually don't get very emotional when I'm watching movies, and LOTR are some of the only ones that I can remember crying at. I remember watching it in the theatre and crying at the "Go home, Sam." part. It made me want to bawl and at the same time scream at Sam, "Don't leave him, dang it!" lol
The part with Faramir and Denethor talking- "Is that what you wish then; that I had died and Boromir had lived?" "Yes. I wish that." That part made me cry too.
I usually don't cry at the Grey Havens or Black Gate scenes, oddly enough.

yeah me too, and it proves only one thing:we are true Ringers! If someone cries in H.P, (s)he's a Potterhead also... (but I'm not)

Yes, I am a ringer. (though I can't imagine being called a potterhead, but that's niether here nor there) Somtimes I cry (usually when I'm PMSing, stupid female hormones. I love watching sad moveis then. Um, back to the topic then...) I cry at a few parts, namely....

1) When Gandalf falls, and the music starts (when I listen to that on CD, i have a "moment of silence" and drop whatever i'm doing.) The tears start there, and they start coming when everybody is hugging and crying, or just staring vacantly. And then, they will pour! when Boromir says "Give them a moment, for pity's sake"

2) A little tear when Boromir dies.

3) Faramir and his suicide mission, with Pip singing. It brings tears to my eyes, but the only time I really cried at that part was at the theater, and probably because it was so loud, and big, and I could see everything, and my sences were overwhelmed.

4) For Frodo (Who doesn't cry at that part?)

5) When the eagles come. We see Gandal'f expression, and the beautiful music.

6) Grey Havens (only a little though)
