So many parts of lotr make me cry...no other movie does this. These movies just seem to reach down into your soul and clutch you there during certain parts. The first time I ever cried during a movie was the scene at Helm's Deep where it shows the little boys and old men preparing for battle and such sad, noble music was playing in the background. I think that ultimately, the saddest part is where Pippen sings. Everything seems so bleak at that point.

oh that's very difficult to say.. there are many emotions in every part. But I think it's RotK, because it was the part which touched me most when I first watched it..

Yeah I think it's RotK too. All the fall of barad dur and grey havens and the retur of the king- scenes...

yes exactly. I think it's so emotinal, because there you have biggest climax of the story.

I watched extended RotK today. At the end of the Pelennor fields scene I was crying...I've never cried there before, but the body count of all of the brave Gondorian soliders really got to me. When I saw Eomer cry over Eowyn, I lost it. Just thinking about that being his little sister...
*smiles* I love being home alone and being able to watch LotR and get all emotional.

yes me too. Luckily I was alone ever morning during the last days and of course I watched LotR. That scene always gets me and also when Aragorn and Gandalf look at Eowyn and Eomer and then the Houses of Healing, it's such a beautiful scene

I am glad that all of you can be openly emotional, I do, and it is sad to see some people not being themselves around others... Hannon 'le, Halarond.

yes normally I don't show it, I only post about it here, because the people in real life would think I'm mad if I told them..

Don't be embarrased to let your "true colours" show, Firiel... really. This life is not a rehersal, so live it to the fullest, do what you want to do (within reason! lol!) and say what you want to say.

if you watch LotR with some of your friends, are you less emotional than if you were watching it alone??

I watched LotR with my best friend on Friday and I really wanted it to be as usual, because I trust her and I'm not afraid to show my emotion in front of her (but she's the only one), but I just wasn't as emotional as I usually am. I don't know why, maybe it was, because I know that she couldn't understand the English version.. but I don't like the German version, the English one is way better
