I think it kinda furthers the magic in a way.... Cuz just watching the regular people and stuff, then watching the movie. Its magical to see how the normal people changed itno those charecters

Nope...I really enjoy behind the scenes actually. I was very disappointed that there were no bloopers on the DVD though... :confuzzled: I LOVE those! :-D

I want to become a director in the future so I just LOVE finding out about all the behind-the-scenes stuff and how they did things; that only makes me appreciate the movie magic even more because you know how much effort was put behind every little thing you see on the screen. Watching all the 18 hours of special features on the EE discs really made me appreciate all the miniature workers, the Workshop + Weta Digital workers even more than I did before.

So for me it's never ruined the magic; it's only enhanced it :)

This is a really good thread!

I've often thought that watching the BtS stuff ruins it a bit. I still love the movies, but I have to try hard not to think of how they did everything as I watch it. I want it to be real. In a way I wish I'd never seen the documentaries and extra discs for LotR, as interesting as it was.

I didn't find that seeing the behind the scenes stuff spoilt the actual movie. If anything, it I appreciated it even more after I had seen how they had done it.

I just love watching behind the scenes programmes - even for films that I don't go and see.

But I agree with Frodo Baggins about bloopers - I really would like to see some of them! :-D

Absolutely agree. I love watching behind the scenes stuff period, whether I even like the movie or not. The whole process just fascinates me so much.

The special features didn't spoil the movies for me at all. In some ways, they made me enjoy the movies even more.

I love the bts stuff. the only thing it did was made me able to realize matte paintings as backgrounds.
otherwise, the bts stuff is great!

I know what you mean... I feel that way when I watch the behind-the-scenes stuff on any movie. It is intresting, though.

This is a very interesting point. Now I LOVE reading about hoe films were made and watching how they were made. I reckon I've seem the FOTR features about 6 times, TTT 4 times and ROTK once. I admit I do at some scenes reflect on how they did a certain shot but it really doesn't ruin it for me. I just find it all fascinating. And let's face it if the features had made me believe it wasn't real..would I still be crying buckets every five miuntes? :P
