Do you think the person who played Bilbo in LOTR will come back as him in The Hobbit?

It was Ian Holm. It would be great to see him again as Bilbo, but somehow I don't think so. PJ has not even yet started to film the movie, and Bilbo should look much much younger!

Well maybe with a little makeup or something Ian Holm would look Younger, And they showed a scene were Bilbo found the ring in FOTR and then his looks didn't change till he gave the ring to Frodo. So I think to fit in with PJ's Movie's Ian Holm should play Bilbo. That's just my opinion anyway. You may be right...Ian Holm may be to old to play the part by the time they start making the Hobbit, And Makeup may not work...

Anyways, A new question: Who do you think should play Bilbo if Ian Holm doesn't return?

I have no idea actually. I think Ian Holm was perfect as Bilbo and I can't imagine anyone else playing him. But I guess if there's a hobbit movie somebody else will play Bilbo, because Ian Holm is too old..

I would really hope so...but it would be difficult...only with the age-looks though...do you think Ian Mellcon will play Gandalf again? I think so.

Definitely! It wouldn't be the same without him. It would also be nice if Ian Holm could do Bilbo. I'm sure it would work. :-D

I think WETA can digitaly make Ian look younger if the make up artists cant..they can work wonders!

Well, if all the news of the film happening within the next 5 years is genuine. I have no doubt Ian McKellen will do Gandalf.

For Bilbo however.. Ian Holme could still very well play Bilbo - after all, Bilbo was about 50 years old in the Hobbit book..

but he looked to be about 20...frodo was fifty-something in the fotr
besides i think that ian holme was more about the fatherly bilbo instead of the adventurous bilbo....i CANT WAIT! so see gollum again, if they change him one bit i WILL BE MAD

Why not? Make-up is amazing!!

and Ian McKellen, if they didnt get that guy back in, i would be VERY angry. :p
