I'm just curious, has any one here actually been to New Zealand where the Lord of the Rings movies were made? I've definatly been there, I was born there and lived there most my life.

I've been there! I went with some student abassadors for a week and a half before we went to Australia. It was awesome...I want to move there.

That's really cool you've been. What part were you in?
Sadly, I was about 7 or 8 when they were filming LOTR, and I had never heard of it until they started. It would've been cool to see some of the stuff being filmed. My cousins saw the inside of a Weta Workshop storeroom. Filled with different armour.

I was in Aukland, Rotorua, Christchurch and Methven. However, we did drive through Mata mata on the way to Rotorua and saw the "Welcome to Hobbiton" sign and the tourism center that looks like a Hobbit hole.

It's not a bad place to live in. Kinda expensive though.

It's really cool that some people live there! I'd love to go there one day, once I get out of school, and once I get enough money. They have a really stunning landscape!

No I haven't. It'd be nice, but the long ride across the ocean wouldn't be fun

I've tried convincing my parents that it'd be a worthwhile family vacation, but I haven't succeeded yet. I'm the only major Ringer in my family, so that makes it harder. My grandma gives each of us (her grandchildren) a big present for after we graduate High School, though, and currently I'm trying to decide whether I'd like a trip to New Zealand or to Europe (which is what one of my cousins did). It's a tough decision, to be sure...

OMG i've been! twice! it's the prettiest place in the whole world, i swear! but do you know what this girl in my class said today? she says, "when i went to NZ, i was bored... there was too many mountains."
<--- that was my reaction. i was stunned. then i told her off.
