When Frodo leaves for the Grey havens it's sooo sad :( i just want to cry forever and i miss him already lmao but the soundtrack is sooo moving. The Grey Havens is a very beautiful thought provoking track and it evokes sympathy from us. I believe that it through listening to such tracks and feeling such emotions, we are informed of exactly how much of a bond we have formed with the characters and as Elijah Wood has said, each charcter in the movie os bound to share some connection with you in one way or another. I believe that this is very true and through the magic of the soundtracks and the emotions we feel through them , this becomes obvious.
That's the magic of Tolkein.

I definatly have to say that the Grey Havens scene gets me everytime. The music and the emotion are amazing! It makes you think about the thought that they will never see or hear from Frodo every again, basically like hes dying that I think thats what makes it so emotional..Not to mention again the music...fits so perfect with the scene.

well i think the whole point in him leaving is so that he can become immortal lol it's just a shame he has to leave the shire and he won't get to make a family of his own to continue the Baggins bloodline :(

The way in which the music always has a theme of the Shire in it even when the situation is really dark always moves me...

As do i. It's soo moving, I also feel moved when i here Samwise the Brave as well as the breaking of the fellowship.I get goosebumps when i listen to ROTK soundtrack as i think about the soldiers going into battle. It's amazing how much a soundtrack can have such a great impact on your emotions eh?

the soundtrack brings the movie to life...and the movie gives the soundtrack life
..they are symbiotic to each other
..the music fills me up
..it wells inside me and I quite often find myself smiling...except with Grey Havens
..that music can make me cry, every time

Both the tracks "The Gray Havens" and "Into the West" make me cry. And in the movie, I have always cried during the Gray Havens.

The music in that part wraps up the piercing sadness of the scene. The Fellowship, bound by a bond of love and friendship, is finally being broken - and broken forever. And of course there's Frodo and Sam. The two of them, as close friends as is possible, who have been through everything together... are seperated, and Sam only has the dim hope that in the future perhaps he might too sail to Valinor.

The music embodies the feelings that run through that scene, the friendship, the heartbreak... the music and the scene are nearly inseperable. I'll listen to the one and see the movie in my head; I'll see pictures of the other and hear the music.

That is exactly what i think! Excellent point Altariel Frodo!

The music really evokes the mood of sadness within us, as we all think of the hardships suffered, and the physical, and non-physical scars left through the quest. I always cry at that scene, I can't help it, the music is so soothing and relaxing and it reflects the mood of tranquility and peace at last, something that we are not used to within the Lord of the Rings as everything always seems to reflect great tension.

The Grey Havens track is absolutely outstanding and really concludes the trilogy. The chorus of Into the West which is, as we all know, part of the Grey Havens score also plays throughout RotK with any reference to death in the film, especially when Gandalf tells Pippin of the Undying Lands in Minas Tirith, it gives me goosebumps just thinking about it :)

It's an outstanding end to an outstanding series of themes used in the soundtrack. I can listen to it (and have) over and over and not get tired of it.

I'm glad they took their time with the music at the end, and the whole scene under it. It was hard for people to let go of these three films, so it was a gentle way of taking us out musically.

The music it self is sooo pretty. It is a sad part of the movie but it is such a lovely song.
