Post subject:  The Prophecy?
Track number one on the FOTR soundtrack--the Prophecy, what is the prophecy exactly? I mean, I thought it meant that it related to some sort of prophecy in the trilogy, but, now that I think it over, there never really was a prophecy? I just wondered why its titled this if there is really no actual prophecy.

Hmm.. maybe the things that Galadriel says in the beginning of FotR like that there will soon be a time when the Hobbits are gonna decide about the fate of all.

Oh, yeah, that could be it. Good guess..:D But I never saw that as an actual prophecy..but, I think you're right.

Well, like Fíriel, I have never really thought about it, but it does seem likely that it is referring to hobbits changing the fortunes of all.

I agree with Aerandil, althogh there was some actual prophecys in the book. There was one that said a man would not be able to slay the witch king.

Yes, but that prophecy was also in the movie, HoL.
I always thought Galadriel's commentary was...well, not a prophecy, almost as if she was going back after and explaining what happened.

Hmm...I think I agree with Haldir and Firiel, about how it might have something to do with what Galadriel said at the beginning...however, like Nienor said, it wasn't really a prophesy...=/

Yeah, because a prophecy is a foretelling of an event to come... and Galadriel's part was not that... she was retelling past events. She even used past tense :) Hmmm....

well, as I already said, what Galadriel said was the only thing that came near a prophecy. I don't think that it actually is a prophecy. And when she tells about the hobbits she says it in the future and not in the past.
