Has anyone ever seen Howard Shore conduct? I went to one of the lord of the rings concerts and it was amazing! He put so much effort into it , at some points it looked like he was standing on hot coals he was jumping around so much. But just being there....Nothing like it! :bounce:       wake up and bounce!!!!!! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: thats better

I wanted to go and see him down in London but my parents wouldn't let me. I was very annoyed about that. To be actually sitting in the same building as the great man himself....with the LOTR music filling the building...louder and louder until the very foundations shake with the score...that would have been an amazing experience.

I wanted to see him in Columbus, but tickets weren't on sale, but I did hear him on the Radio, NPR.

Well since I live on the only island-state of Australia... I doubt he'll come here either. Seeing Howard Shore in action would be a really great opportunity though. The music he composed for the trilogy was truly amazing. I'm hardly a music connoisseur but if anyone ever asks who my favourite composer is, Mr Shore could well be second to none.. :)

It came here too, but I missed it. Actually the prices for the concert were really expensive here. Where I live, is kinda boring.

I saw him last summer in Pittsburgh as well. It was absolutely brilliant (eek! Why is Concerning Hobbits skipping?!?!). Really, he's like... my hero, so being in the same room as him was absoulutely incredible. And he seriously was soooo into it. I saw it again, with John Mauceri conducting, this summer, and he definitely was not as much involved in it. I mean, obviously, Howard wrote it, so he has more of a connection to it or whatnot, but still. I could tell, even from the very last row of Heinz Hall (never wait as long to buy tickets for something as I did... well actually, they were a birthday present, but still), how passionate about the music he is. It honestly inspired me and made me want to be a better musician.

My band teacher also played (the trumpet) with Howard conductin. It's a shame I don't like my band teacher.... I really don't think he deserves to play with my favorite conductor ever.
