Assuming that most of you have seen the movie by now, and that a lot of you will have listenened to the soundtrack, what were your favorite pieces of music in the film/on the cd? :)

My favorite tracks on the CD are:
Old Friends (because of Shire-music)
Axe or Sword
The World Is Ahead (first instrumental Misty Mountains theme)
Over Hill (because of loud Misty Mountains theme)
A Good Omen

And all the songs: Blunt the Knives, Misty Mountains, and Song of the Lonely Mountain :)

The only piece of music that's missing on the soundtrack so far is from the part where the Eagles have rescued the company and are flying over the mountains. The music gave me shivers in the theatre, but I can't find it anywhere :-(

I'm HOPING it will be on an extended edition soundtrack

^I'm not sure if the Eagles music is on the extended soundtrack (as I have to admit I don't remember what it sounds like), but you can get it on spotify now.

My favorites are Blunt the Knives, Misty Mountains and Song of the Lonely Mountain (obviously), but apart from them I'd have to say I love Erebor, Dreaming of Bag End and A Very Respectable Hobbit the most.

no it isn't, I got it, but I'm hoping when an extended edition of The Hobbit comes out, so will another soundtrack like it happened with LOTR.

^It's not very likely that they're going to release another extended soundtrack, cause two extended soundtracks doesn't really make sense...

Over Hill!

I listened to it on repeat and grew a mighty dwarf beard! :teehee:

The Misty Mountains theme is possibly one of my favourite themes from all of the LotR/Hobbit scores. I don't think anything can beat the Rohan theme but it might be a close second.

I don't think addying two songs and make a few others longer makes it an extended soundtrack, just special edition bonus tracks, once the movie with extra scenes comes out, there'll be more music, plus the CDs only last about two hours and there's THREE hours worth of music :)

Old Friends! It reminds me of good times ^^
And of course Misty Mountains. I can be more sure about that. I love Thorin's voice.

well I must say I love all the songs& I do admit that there has been a couple times I have to teared up listening to misty mountains cold but the craziest reaction I have to any of the songs is I can be driving down the road and when the song The Adventure Begins comes on which is what plays when Bilbo finally decides to grab the contract & run after the dwarves, I will yell out "I'm going on an adventure" lol
Now I know I'm a little bit crazy and I admit that, but does anybody else have a similar reaction when listening to any of the songs they will admit to? :)

-Warg scouts (i like it, idkw!)

-An UNEXPECTED PARTY!
