Well now that we have 5 movies with tons of great music I though I'd ask what's everybody's top 5.

Here is mine...
1.Gollums Song -TWO TOWERS
2. Misty Mountains Cold - An Unexpected Journey
3. I See Fire - Desolation of Smaug
4. Into the West - Return of the King
5. Bridge of Khazad Dum - Fellowship of the Ring

Mine are:

1. I See Fire - DoS
2. The Song of the Lonely Mountain - AUJ
3. Misty Mountains - AUJ
4. Into the West - RotK
5. Gollum's Song - TT

Both I See Fire and Gollum's Song are a little on the melancholy side, but I still enjoy them. I even posted a link to the music video for the former. I really should watch it again one of these days, since I'm still waiting for stores to get in the Special Edition soundtrack for DoS (they still only have the regular edition. Perhaps the Christmas mail is delaying it). :)

Only five? I can't pick just five from one soundtrack.

It doesn't ask you to list your top 5 favorites from one soundtrack, but from all the soundtracks from all five movies which includes the three LOTR movies (FotR, TT, RotK) and the first two Hobbit movies (AUJ, DoS). :)

(Though I think Nienna's point was that it's hard enough to choose 5 from even one soundtrack, let alone narrowing it down out of five! ;) )

1 - Breaking of the Fellowship
2 - The Black Gate Opens
3 - Misty Mountains
4 - Minas Tirith
4 - The Hornburg (though mostly for the Lothlorien battle theme. What I wouldn't give for a full version of that...)

wow this is hard.... these are from the extended soundtracks :)

1- Elanor (RotK)
2- Breaking of the Fellowship (FotR)
3- Into the West (RotK)
4- Edoras (tTT)
5- The Shire (FotR)

I don't think I know the Hobbit soundtracks well enough yet to pick favorites. And I'm pretty sure I'll change my mind about these later... ;)

I knew when i made this thread it would be hard for everybody to list only 5 songs, but I guess thats kind of the fun of it as I totally agree it is very hard to only pick 5 from all 5 movies & depending on my mood some of my top 5 could be different at any given time or should I say at any given mood :)

I play xbox all he time & always listened to mostly Led Zeppelin cranked up loud while playing, but now that I have become such a huge fan of everything Tolkien I now sit & listen to nothing but LOTR or Hobbit soundtracks while playing
