I love the DoS soundtrack, but was struck by how much more dark and mysterious it is! I do love the new themes of the elves of Mirkwood, Smaug, and Laketown!

Favorite songs (so far!):
-Feast of Starlight
-Barrels out of Bond
and of course
-I See Fire

Anybody else?

I also loved the soundtrack, although I hadn't expected anything less ;-) So far not one piece composed by Howard Shore for PJ's movies has been a disappointment for me!

The only thing I missed in the DoS soundtrack was the return of the Misty Mountains theme. It had kind of become the Dwarves themesong in my head, so I really hoped we would hear that again when they entered the mountain. Other than that, I loved the variation on the Rivendell/Lorien theme for the Mirkwood halls! It reminded me of the other themes used for the Elves, but there was also something more mysterious and dark about it that perfectly fits the dark atmosphere of Mirkwood.

And the Laketown theme is really cute and something different :)

I don't have any favorite tracks at this moment, but I'll add them soon!

For the soundtrack, I really like the Laketown theme.

Is the Mirkwood spider scene theme similar to the Shelob scenes, or am I expecting certain music when creepy giant spiders show up?

I really like Tauriel's theme...its so energetic, and fits her character very well.
And, secretly i love Tauriel and Kili's theme
'"Hae Ephadron/theri thaur/am na dhû/ ias fir î ambar/A trehil i alad lan uir tri wilith"'
(I go walking/beyond the forest/where the world falls away/and the white light/of forever fills the air)

I love the Wilderland part. I get chills of it every time I hear it.
Now, my list looks something like this:
1. Feast of starlight
2. Smaug
3. wilderland
4. I see fire
5. Beyond the forest.
And the beginning of flies and spiders is also amazing. The part when the butterflies are flying around Bilbo's head.
Why are my fav tracks always changing?

It does sound similar to Shelob's Lair from RotK. The name of the track is Flies and Spiders.

Now that I finally have the Special Edition soundtrack, here are some of my favorite tracks:

I See Fire (I always put this track on repeat a few times, much like I do with the Song of the Lonely Mountain from AUJ)
Durin's Folk
On the Doorstep (this scene is so touching)
Smaug
Flies and Spiders
The Forest River (one of my favorite scenes)
Thrice Welcome (I still think the Laketown theme resembles a sea shanty)

The scene with on the Doorstep music on backround is soo touching.. I nearly cried when I saw it at the first time.
There's somebody else who loves Smaug's theme. :-D
