I sing that so much... just walking down the sidewalk, I'm usually singing "home is behind, the world's ahead..."

Ha ha, so do I. I took a three hour car drive, um...a few weeks ago, and I was singing that the whole time. It was very fun

In Dreams.

There's just something about that song that I love.

edit:
Yes, it is on the FOTR soundtrack. It plays right after "The Breaking of the Fellowship."

Oh, this is a hard choice between In Dreams and Into the West! :swoon: they're both amazing songs! But I guess... if I can only pick one, I have to choose Into the West…… it's such an emotional song that sums up the end of the trilogy and all that had happened. Although In Dreams is sort like that too. :P

I had a hard time choosing between In Dreams, May It Be and Into the West, but I settled on May It Be.

Well, I agree with everyone else - this is a MOST difficult choice! ALL of these songs are excellent. However, since we must choose only one, then I would say "Into the West" since it does complete the journey.

Yeah it was such a great ending for the soundtrack. "Don't say we have come now to the end" fits really well.

oh yes, definitely. I absolutely love that line and I also think that it fits the ending very well...
But currently my fav LotR song actually is Gollum's Song. I've always liked it a lot and right now it just is my favourite, because it really describes Gollum's character and also his story very well I think. You know it goes beyond this superficial image of Gollum as just being evil or a disgusting little monster

Yes, that's true. I've always rather pitied him. He, like many, fell victim to the Ring rather against his will and it destroyed his life.

yeah exactly. And he couldn't really do anything about it and afterwards there was not chance for a normal life for him and I think the song expresses that very well.

Yes, it also conveys his hopelessness. The Ring became his sort of "addiction", which I think might have been a metaphor for some of today's addictions.

oh yeah, I think so, too.
Today I had to write a Music exam about soundtrack and we were given a text talking about that soundtracks never are of high quality and that they can't express anything without the pictures and we had to write our own opinion about that text and I had to think of the LotR soundtrack all the time, because what it says in that text is so not true for the LotR soundtrack in my opinion

I know my dad doesn't like it because it's written to illustrate what you're seeing on the screen, but I still love it. :)
