I just found out today that EA will release another BFME but this time using characters not in the film!!! and you get dwarven and elven armies as well!!!
So it could mean controlling someone like Glorfindel

I know!!! I just found out today too and I'm soooo excited.
Basically what happened is EA Games was recently given the rights to make games not only based on PJ’s movies, but also on Tolkien’s world that did not make it into the films.
So....now EA can make a BME2 and include all those battles of Middle Earth that were never in the movies. I'm thinking like the seige of Erebor with the dwarves and defending Lothlorien with the elves and lots of stuff like that!
I can't wait to use all the new heroes and units! And there's little doubt that #2 will be far more enhanced than the 1st one.
If you want more info you can check out the official BME site here:
http://www.eagames.com/official/lordoft ... s/home.jsp
Oh yeah! EA just keeps coming out with more sweet stuff. Keep 'em coming I say!

Oh, this will be great to be able to do Dwarve and Elvish armies as well. It boggles the mind! But I look forward to it as well.

Hmmm....and then you have to fight the armies of sauron again, or Melkor or something. If i was EA Games, i had made a bfme of the silmarillion. That would have been great!

Nah, so far the game isn't really true to the books. Goblins riding Spiders, Giant Bats and other wicked beasts..
All the Elves are united under one banner, so you will see Galadriel fighting next to Elrond.. I also read somewhere that Elrond would be stronger than Glorfindel, the Elf who defeated a Balrog and spread fear among the enemy (even the Ringwraiths feared him).

Check out this news from Gamespot!
http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/bat ... 30883.html
I am really really excited now! Look at those screenshots - such nice graphics! And one of the things I like is that you can build fortresses wherever you want, anyway you want, unlike the first 1 which had predetermined building plots.
And I'm real excited to play as the dwarves and goblins/monsters factions...they look so awesome! I know that its not exactly true to the book, but it's a game and a video game can't be "word-for-word". I do think that they have some interesting random additions that I'm not so sure of, but overall this game is gonna be soooo good!
More Middle-Earth + more customization + more strategy = one awesomer lotr rts!

I'm so excited that they are making another one. I love BFME and I'm guessing the second will be even better.

This game looks awesome, beyond what words can describe! The guy who played Elrond in the movie is going to be the lead voiceover, btw!

There are 6 armies totally...
Men of the West: Gondor+Rohan, peasants and yeoman archers are no more but replaced by gondrians. Heros included Rohan and Gondor in BFME1 except the elf and the dwarve. Nothing special...
Elves: The army I surely will use. Legolas and his dad, Haldir, Elrond and Arwen, and,Treebeard! Ents joined Elves Army as Gondor has siege weapons to aid Rohan already...
Dwarves: Well...Gimli and his dad Gloin, Dwarven king Dain are heros, dwarve has a lot of health and powerful siege weapons! Nobody toss a dwarve!
Mordor: Nazgul can change their "pets" and Gollum becomes the key of the warXD. In each map, there is Gollum walking around and if you catch him, you can have the right to use special heros, good guys use galadriel and sauron for bad guys, you
will see how they destroy your home easily...
Isengard: Just increased 2 heroes...Wormtongue and Snaku, and Saruman can changed weather.
Goblins: The useles creatures for you to take money formed an army and they can climb walls, also with the aid of spiders, mountain giant (they appeared in the book only), they are terrible! About the hero, umm...nothing...just a DRAGON!!!Not Smaug but greater than him, if you see the dragon flying to your house I think we can just escape.
HAHA there are navals too, but I just know good and evil has 4 ships too, Melee, Combat, supply and carrying.

Okay, this is probably the game I am looking forward to more than any others, except maybe Halo 3.
CREATE A HERO!?!?!?!? That's SO AWESOME!!!!
I'm going to make a ton of elves - all my RPG characters....^_^
That would be awesome.

Hmm. Likewise, Does the Create a Hero function let you create ANY of the species in the game?

Anyone knows if there's a release date?
I played BFME 1 and thought it was great so I'm really expecting BFME 2.
