I know. On the third age, you are playing first person you are going after our heroes in LOTR.

In BFME. It is a just strategy game. You build up and create soldiers due to the limit is allowed. Try to win over forces of Mordor.

Just to add on to what has been already said...

The Third Age is an RPG where you play "secondary" heroes, it has a somewhat slow pace but can get interesting as you progress through the various levels. The graphics are beautiful and the characters look great also.

Battle for Middle Earth on the other hand is an RTS (with online play). As stated before, you build up an army and gather resources, but the micro- management in this game isn't as tedious as in other RTS's. The graphics in this one are beautiful also, as is the detail on the different units.

Overall, I'd recommend BFME (givin that your computer can run it smoothly). I definately recommend picking up BFME 2 though, I just recently purchased it and havn't put it down yet.

Your gamer girl is here! I'd rather spend my time being the soldiers and using the techniques in TTA. I haven't bought BME yet, but I've played it.

I actually haven't played BFME (I own a Mac and I don't think BFME exists for Mac), but here's my critique of TTA:

Plot: Actually quite good, I thought, up until you get past Osgiliath. Then it gets confusing, disappointing and it's a lot like the game makers went "Ahh! Not enough time! Finish the plot quickly any which way!"

Graphics: Beautiful. I especially enjoyed how you can pick up weapons and when you equip them, you can see the characters wearing whatever you equipped.

The battles toward the end get so long, it's amazing. I like that, but if you don't, definetely don't get it, it has the potential to become boring. It's is cool because you get to fight alongside Legolas, Aragorn, Gandalf, Eowyn...probably more that I can't remember...against Mumakil, the Witch-King, the Eye of Sauron, the Balrog, the Watcher in the Water...there's a ton.

Personally, I loved the game but the plot did disappoint me.

TTA was fun, but BFME lasted longer for me. And I'm a fan of both styles of these games. BFME 2 on the other hand hands down better than either of these.

I haven't played Third Age much, but I definatly like Battle for Middle Earth more. Even better is Battle for Middle Earth 2. Both games are awesome though.
