Well, being the etymology freak that I am, I love to look up name meanings and translate them into different languages.
behindthename.com is a pretty good site for etymology and meanings, it even has a section for surnames!
http://home.netcom.com/~heensle/lang/elvish/elvish.html
^A pretty reliable site for Elvish translations, in both Sindarin and Quenya. Don't mind the blinding colors, the actual dictionaries themselves are easier on the eyes.
The name 'Jasmine' comes from the name of the plant, so I doubt Tolkien made up an Elvish word for that. However, Jasmine flowers are apparently fragrant and used in perfumes, so you could take 'fragrant flower' and translate it into the Quenya Nisimalotse. (I couldn't find a translation in Sindarin, but Nisimalotse sounds lovely, if you ask me.)
Also, I found out that my last name is (probably) derived from another last name that means 'bright place'. (Either that or a town in England, I decided to go with 'bright place' because it makes me feel shiny. ) In Sindarin that would be Galadsad.
So my full Elvish name would be Eruphadriel Galadsad. *Wonders if she has just figured out a good masquerade name*

I think she meant this, Jax: if you know what a name means, or approximately what it means, you can go to that site and look up the words and put them together to make a name.

Aw, don't worry, we all have days like that.
I really don't know.... but did you try looking for "One who heals?" Maybe you could find something for that.

Hmm... Does anyone know, what is "weird" in Elvish? It's what my friends name mean in Japanese, I heard. I'm sure that it's not only meaning of her name, but I think her name is funny.

My name means "graceful" and I don't know how to translate that into elvish..
The dictionaries say "grace" is Eruanna or Erulisse.. but that is "grace" in a different context altogether..
@Esteleth..
the link you gave isn't working

My name is Lauren Sophi Elisabeth, so my Elvish name is Galasriniel Idhrenniel Eruwaedhiel (Gahl-ahs-ree-nee-ell Ee-threnn-ee-ell Air-oo-wye-thee-ell) .... Very long! I actually have more than that, due to generators, RPG charries, and other LotR sites...
I actually like the name Laerwen (Lyre-win)

I do not really know. My name is Vendela = meaning "vandal", but is there a word in Quenya or Sindarin for vandal? x) You could also say "hurter", if you twist the meaning a little... but I do not find a translation for that either. Someone who knows?
