Does anyone know of a good online course in Elvish? Among other things, I want to learn some good insults to say to my (also LotR fanatic) brother.

Council of Elrond has some Elvish courses but I haven't been there for a very long time... no one seems to speak Elvish these days...
The A-U main site has some Elvish insults (though they might not be 100% accurate). You can find them under the Elvish section. :-)

The best courses I'd recommend are Thorsten's at Parma Tyelpelassiva (LINK).

However, if you're just looking for a few insults, I suppose you could look for a phraselist. Though some are slightly incorrect or need to be updated (like those that use -ch for "you").

As for no one speaking Elvish these days, it's just a hiatus as we digest and comprehend the massive amount of information published in the latest issue of Parma Eldalamberon, which has changed quite a lot of our previous usage. So it'll be back.

Learning insults to say to my brother is just one of the things I want to do. I do indeed want to learn the whole language. I'll go check out those insults (instant gratification:-D) and those Elvish courses. Thank you both for your recommendations.

Well, if you want it for more than just insults and want a course online you could try Your Sindarian Textbook.
http://realelvish.125mb.com/your-sindarin-textbook.html

but, it's Sindarian, and not Quenya... but I'm not sure how thorough it is(I only got to lesson one and that was a bit ago...).

But also AU has a couple of insults in elvish like "You smell like an orc" lol!

Ardalambion

Has lots of information on different languages, and even offers a Quenya course. A lot of it is the mechanics, etc of the languages but still helpful all the same.
