I was wondering if anyone would like to help me with my translation for a song. The parts in bold I'm having difficulties with. Suggestions or comments are welcome. It's a bit long.
Harvest of Sorrow/Crithad Naeg
She is gone leaves are falling down/E gwanu in lais dannar
The tear maiden will not return/I 'wend nîr ú-athôl
The seal of oblivion is broken/I daew gaw narchas
And a pure love's been turned into sin/A meleth ú-wass adechannen na úgarth
At the dawn of our living time/ Na i vinuial pín chuiad
Hope may cover all cries/Estel tôb nîr bain
Truth lurks hidden in the shadows/Thannas dolen mi dae
Dreams might be filled with lies/Elei pathrant ah úthennas
Soon there will be night/Celeg daw teli (or) lint telitha daw
Pain remains inside/Naeg dartha nedh
Suddenly oh it seemed so clear/Na-vreged ai pain thiant lim
all the blindness was taken away/Ú-gen hin si laden (or) laden lû dan i geneth naun
She closed her eyes/E hollen dhîn hent
And she called out my name/ah cân eneth nín (or) ah e agon eneth nín
She was never ever never ever seen again/E ú-achennen anann
Harvest of Sorrow/Crithad naeg
your seed is grown/aul eredh lín
in a frozen world full of cries/Vi ardhon chelch pant nîr
when the ray of life shrinks/I glîn calad thinnant
Shall cold winter nights begin/Daiw rhîw chilch heriar
She is gone and I fall from grace/E gwanu dannon o chalur
No healing charm covers my wounds/Lûth nestadren ú-doba haru nín
Fooled’s the dawn and so am I fooled by life and a bitter doom/Gweriant i minuial ah im anchuial a amath saer (or) sui vinuial tân nin gweriant cuil na amarthon haer
To bring you the end of the day/Togel I meth in arad
At the dawn of our living time/Na I vinuial mín chuiad
Hope it soon will pass by/Estel lagoreb thinnatha
Facing the darkness/Broniol I dûwath
I stand (alone)/Bronion (erui)
Harvest of sorrow/Crithad naeg
Your seed is grown/Eredh lín galant
In a frozen world full of cries/Vi ardhon chelch pant nîr
When the ray of life shrinks/I glîn cuil thinnant
Shall cold winter nights begin/Daiw rhîw chelch herio

Oh my, I made this post so long ago. I've given up on the translation since.
I've studied Sindarin for about six or seven years give or take. But my understanding is by no means complete. There's several people at CoE who have a lot better understanding of Sindarin. I think it's all the new theorectical material that I just can't keep up with and the linguistic terms send me in a spin because I can't understand them. :confused2:
Anyway... If you want to learn they have good lessons and a good language forum at councilofelrond.com

*counts on fingers* Yep, it's actually been seven years since I first started studying, but there have been long stretches where I didn't study or translate anything, so don't think that I've been doing hardcore Sindarin stuff for seven years straight. :p

Thank-you! I worked really hard on it I remember, but I wasn't understanding what people were saying when they said 'this or that' is wrong because of 'this or that'. Like I said I got lost when they start talking about references, theoretical material, and linguistic terms. Yikes.
